According to movies, yes. According to other churches, yes. Well, transferring from Paradise to hell, or vice versa, is unbiblical. The Bible tells us that when a person dies, he is going to face the initial judgment. (Heb9:27) It's either he will go to Paradise or hell. That would be their temporary home while waiting for the final judgment.
Can You Ever Leave Hell Once You're There |
Jesus tells us in Luke 16:26 about the Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus where the rich man is asking Abraham for some relief in hell. Then Abraham responded: "And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence." The keyword here is: "between us and you there is a great gulf fixed". Meaning, there is no way for you to leave wherever you are.
You don't need to feel sorry about them because on their own free will, they choose to be in hell in the very first place.
Ecclesiastes 9:5 also reads, "For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten."
Repentance should be done while we are still alive and not when we are dead. Because there is no reward after death. That is the reason why praying for the dead is useless because it won't have any effect at all. The judgment of Yahweh is irreversible. It is fixed.
