A dangerous misconception persists among Christian community: the belief that Christians has replaced the Israelites. While the belief is satisfying to hold, a more careful review of the New Testament reveals Jesus Christ never said that Christians has replaced the Israelites. In the Book of Acts, before Jesus Christ ascended to heaven, the disciples asked him: “Lord, will you at this time restore again the kingdom of Israel?” (Acts 1:6) To this, Jesus responded: “It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesess unto me both in Jerusalem, and in Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the Earth.” (Acts 1:7–8) Here you see that Jesus Christ answered the apostles “He doesn’t know when the kingdom will be given back to the Israelites.
